Oscar "Cacho" Tirao (1941-2007) was an Argentine guitarist and composer of folk music. He began playing guitar at the age of four and made his first radio appearances soon after. At the age of 16 he played in the orchestra of the Teatro Argentino de La Plata. From 1968 to 1971 he was a member of Astor Piazzolla's famous quintet. He has worked with Osvaldo Tarantino, Dino Saluzzi and Rodolfo Mederos and accompanied Joséphine Baker.
Cacho Tirao recorded 36 records, with the one released in 1978 selling over 1 million.
